The Inn at Whitewell

This 18th-century former coaching inn, a Royal Resting Place in the 1300’s. The Inn at Whitewell is captured here with the Parish Church of Saint Michael, was just a small manor house, lived in by the keepers of the Royal forest. The Royal connection still remains as the Inn forms part of the Duchy of Lancaster Estate. It is in an idyllic, secluded spot beside the River Hodder in the Forest of Bowland.
